Iain Lanaghan CA appointed to the board of Scottish Water
Iain Lanaghan CA has been appointed a non-executive director of the board of Scottish Water.
Iain, a former main board finance director, will take up the position on 1 April 2017.
The Cabinet Secretary for the Environment, Climate Change and Land Reform, Roseanna Cunningham MSP said she is confident that Iain will play a “key role in maintaining Scottish Water’s impressive track record of improvement in efficiency and service delivery".
Iain has previously held positions at KPMG in London and Frankfurt before founding Metropolitan European Transport, one of the largest private transport companies in Germany with turnover of more than €30.
Graeme Bell CA joins Duff & Phelps as Senior Advisor
Duff & Phelps, the global valuation and corporate finance advisor, has appointed Graeme Bell CA as Senior Advisor to the Oil & Gas M&A team.
Graeme brings more than 20 years’ experience in the energy, oil and gas industry, and has held C-suite roles at Viking SeaTech, Green Ocean Energy, Nautronix, and JDR Cable Systems. He is the founder of, and current Managing Director at, Bell & Associates Limited, provider of a full range of management and financial consultancy services.

HSBC gains former LSE chief
HSBC has hired former Chief Executive of the London Stock Exchange Clara Furse.
Clara will take on the role as chair of the banks ring-fenced retail operations, which are to be based in Birmingham.
Clara is currently a non-executive director of Nomura Holdings, Vodafone Group, Amadeus IT Holdings, as well as being the lead independent director at the UK’s Department for Work and Pensions.
She was CEO of the London Stock Exchange Group from January 2001 to May 2009.
Clare Bousfield becomes CEO of Insurance at Prudential
Smith & Williamson appoints new managing partner
Andrew Edmonds has been named new managing partner for Smith & Williamson’s south coast office.
Andrew originally joined the firm as a graduate trainee in 1994, and was promoted to head of assurance and business services in Southampton in 2011.
Andrew will be taking over from Richard Green who held the role for 10 years.
