Bill Bowman CA becomes MSP for North East
Bill Bowman CA has been sworn in as the new Scottish Conservative MSP for the North East at a ceremony at Holyrood today, replacing the late Alex Johnstone.
After qualifying as a CA in 1976, Bill went on to spend more than 26 years at KPMG, first as a Partner in the UK, and then going on to become a Senior Partner in the Big Four firm’s operation in Romania.
Bill also sat on the board of the UTI Group, a Romanian based company that provides solutions for security, defence, IT and communications.
After returning to the UK, Bill began his career in politics, contesting a Dundee seat in both the general election in 2015 and the Scottish Parliament election in 2016.
Bill is one of three CAs currently serving as an MSP. Alison Harris is the Scottish Conservative MSP for Central Scotland, and John Mason is currently the SNP MSP for Glasgow Shettleston.
