Anton Colella: Taking global ICAS to the next level
Anton Colella: Taking global ICAS to the next level.
One of the most encouraging figures I've seen recently is the growth in the international membership of ICAS.
CAs living outside the UK will soon make up one in five of our members.
As we refresh our strategy, your Council has decided to put building a truly global ICAS at the heart of our plans for next year and beyond.
So, what does that mean ?
It means creating an international digital offering which is valuable and relevant to members on tablets, mobiles and PCs, wherever you are in the world.
We have just launched icas.com. We will introduce more international content. We will launch international digital communities. We will make it easier to locate and connect with our network of CAs around the world.
It means further growing ICAS communities and events in locations around the world.
We already have more than 20 international communities. We will increase the budget for their activities. We will grow our current communities and seek to launch new ones in 2016.
We aim to bring more international members onto Council and our committees in 2016.
We have launched a virtual mentoring programme which aims to allow CAs to help each other wherever they are in the world.
We are developing an international offering of CPD and will start to introduce that in 2016.
We will extend our international influence. We are in the latter stages of updating reciprocity agreements with eight countries and are negotiating with others to get a better deal for our members.
The CA qualification has long been an international career passport. Our global network of CAs is well recognised as powerful and valuable
Our aim is to build on that in the future so that members get the same value and benefits wherever they work in the world.
This is the next stage in the transformation of your Institute.
