The firm operates across a number of countries, with over 100 offices in the UK. The firm have a real focus on delivering excellent client service and offer a full of range services across taxation, advisory, general practice and audit and operate across a variety of sectors.

The tax team, who deliver a full range of tax services to clients large and small, are growing and are aiming to double the size of the practice in the coming years. This is an exciting role, which offers an existing or aspiring partner to opportunity to join this fantastic business, focusing in the entrepreneurial tax space.

I was fortunate enough recently to spend some time with one of the leading tax partners in the Scottish practice and found their approach to mirror that of the wider firm: forward thinking, commercially minded, supportive, and ambitious. If this sounds like a culture that would suit you and you are currently operating at a senior level, this could be worth further exploration.

About the role

Within this varied and potentially career defining role, you will be assisting in work which includes; tax structuring, pre-sales planning for owner managed business / corporate groups, providing deal support for the corporate finance function, providing tax due diligence support for large transactions for OMBs and handling other ad-hoc queries and requirements from other services lines such as audit, accounts and corporate finance.

Alongside the day-to-day delivery for your clients, you will also work with the firms existing tax consultants to help shape their careers, whilst also sharing knowledge across the wider tax team to develop their tax knowledge and support their work.

As you would expect as a new partner, you will also get involved in marketing activities such as writing topical articles for internal and external publication and developing client relationships by winning work from both new and existing clients. You will also be an integral part of the UK knowledge hub.

About the individual

You will have experience in tax structuring / pre-sale planning along with strong knowledge of current HMRC practice along with experience of business reliefs. A broad tax knowledge is a must, and you will also have great leadership skills, the desire to grow and develop the practice and a good helping of ambition and commercial acumen.

What you'll get in return

You will have the opportunity to lead and grow our Entrepreneurial Tax service line in Scotland with future progression and development as part of an ambitious firm. The firm will offer you the autonomy to shape your role whilst still benefiting from the support from a UK-wide Tax group. This role also offers a competitive salary and benefits package.
