Iffy Hussein CA

Iffy Hussein CA values the diverse range of opportunities now available after gaining his qualification.

I work in the Corporate Finance team at PwC in Leeds.

Why did you become a CA?

It’s a prestigious and internationally recognised qualification, that opens many doors to a variety of interesting roles across the broad spectrum of finance.

Why are you proud to be a CA?

I am proud to be a Chartered Accountant. It is a tough qualification to complete, but once you have, it differentiates you from your peers. It makes you an attractive asset in the job market and provides many opportunities in both financial and non-financial roles.

What does your role involve?

Every transaction in corporate finance is different and has its own complexities. You can work with the largest corporates in the world, all the way through to smaller family-owned businesses.

What is the most interesting project you have worked on?

A memorable client of mine was a couple that built their business from the ground up. They took a small business loan over 30 years ago and built it into a business worth millions. It was a pleasure and a privilege to support and guide them through this.

What is your best piece of career advice?

What is important, is that you continually develop yourself and your skills to ensure that you can try a variety of roles in the future, to understand what your preferences are and what matches your personality.
