Andrew Ross CA decided to complete a CA qualification with ICAS as he wanted to pursue a career with ample opportunities.

Why did you become a CA?

I decided to become a CA after attending a recruitment event. We were told all about the opportunities that would come with being a CA. The opportunity to train and to move around, and I decided that I wanted to become a CA.

What route did you take to become a CA?

I followed the graduate route. I went to Glasgow Caledonian University. I studied accountancy and I trained as a CA at Saffery Champness.

Do you have any advice for those considering training to become a CA through ICAS?

Understand why you want to do it and what you want to get out of it. It is quite a tough process, but it is very worthwhile when you make it to the other side. You should definitely understand why you want to do it.
