Election of Office Bearers

The Council has nominated as candidates for election as Office Bearers:

  • Sir Brian Souter as President,
  • Alexander (Sandy) Manson as Deputy President, and
  • Michael (Mike) James Edward McKeon as Vice President to hold office from the conclusion of the Annual General Meeting on 28 April 2017.

Nominations of candidates for election as Office Bearers, other than those nominated by the Council, should be made in writing, signed by 50 members and lodged with the Secretary on or before 16 March 2017.

A nominations form for members wishing to stand for election are available on request from the Secretary at fbrown@icas.com.

Each nomination must be accompanied by a letter from the candidate confirming their willingness to serve if elected.

Electoral area members

There are three electoral area seats for election in 2017 and the vacancies are set out below. Members who have, or are deemed to have, a place of business within an electoral area where vacancies arise are eligible to be elected to represent that area.

Members elected to Council for a first time will serve for four years.  Members elected to Council for a second term will serve for three years.

Open Council seats

There are two open seat vacancies arising at the 2017 elections. The current incumbents Colin Crosby and Ann Hansen are both eligible to stand for re-election.

Election process of electoral area and open seat members

A nomination form may be obtained from the Secretary on application at fbrown@icas.com

Each nomination paper must either: (i) in the case of electoral area seats be subscribed by ten proposers whose places of business are within the electoral area for which a nomination is made, or (ii) in the case of open Council seats be subscribed by ten proposers.

Each nomination for either an electoral area or open council seat must be accompanied by letter from the candidate confirming their willingness to serve on Council if elected.

All nomination papers should be lodged with the Secretary on or before 16 March 2017.
