Richard Hunsicker, owner of an auto parts store, founded INCOSAN to develop and market inventory control systems for auto parts stores.
1981
INCOSAN is reorganized as Icas Systems, Inc., d.b.a. Icas computer systems inc.
1982 - 1988
Icas develops a succession of multi-user turnkey computer systems for the automotive aftermarket.
1989
Dr. Rüdiger (Rudy) Ventker acquires the company and becomes President. A graduate from Hamburg University and Stanford University, his professional career included fourteen years of Operations Research software development at Exxon Corp. and development of credit scoring systems in Monaco for Fair Isaac, the leading provider of global analytics and decision technology.
Icas ports its software to Intel 80386-based systems running under the Xenix operating system.
1990
Icas launches PaceSetter, completely new aftermarket management software, based on the Progress relational database and 4GL.
1992
Mighty Distributing of America selects PaceSetter as the preferred business solution for their franchises. Today over 90 franchises, generating over 90% of Mighty sales, have installed PaceSetter.
1994
Icas is the first automotive aftermarket software company to interface with MISG's Direct-Connect to access manufacturer systems for order status, inventory inquiries, special ordering, etc.
1999
Icas partners with Applied Computer Resources to enable their Bay-masteR repair shop management system for automatic parts ordering from PaceSetter.
2002
Icas includes StarOffice (now OpenOffice) for Solaris, Linux, and Windows with every system.
Icas launches a browser-based Mobile Order Entry system for taking online orders over the Internet with a handheld device.
2003
Icas launches the Spanish version of PaceSetter for the Latin American market.
Icas partners with Activant Solutions, Inc. and interfaces PaceSetter with PartExpert®, the industry's leading automotive parts catalog.
2004
Icas enables PaceSetter to process electronic sales orders from SpeedECat, the premier Internet based ordering software for installers and repair shops.
Today
Icas continues to be the leader in aftermarket computing by extending PaceSetter beyond the traditional POS/Inventory control functions and providing cost-effective, superior information system solutions.
